A new twist on the favorite classic blossom cookie with cookies and cream flavor!
Everyone loves peanut butter blossoms that have a peanut butter cookies with a chocolate hershey kiss pressed in the top, buttttt what I have for you today is even better. Cookies and cream blossoms are the new and improved version and they're super fun and delicious! I started out with my favorite thumbprint cookie dough recipe that never, ever fails me. The cookies keep they're shape perfectly every time and it's so versatile you can change up the flavors any way you'd like - hence this cookies and cream version. If you like cheese danishes you've gotttt to try THESE, using the same dough as the base.
To make these a little different I decided to omit the lemon juice that is in my original recipe and fold in a ton of crushed oreos for lots of oreo flavor. You'll be using the whole oreo, not just the cookie portion, so leave the filling in the cookies! Before baking, you'll want to press the balls of dough down slightly because as I mentioned earlier, they really do hold their shape and will only flatten out slightly while baking.
When they're done, this is where the fun begins. You'll have to immediately press a cookies and cream kiss in the top of each cookie while they are still piping hot. When my kisses melt, just with these certain cookies I like to smooth out the tops instead of leaving them in a kiss shape but that is obviously personal preference. Allow them to cool completely before eating or dig right in and have gooey chocolate!
