This mocha banana smoothie is the perfect way to kick off your morning.
It’s still the beginning of the New Year so we’re all trying to eat a little better, right? Let’s do it by starting off our day with one of these mocha banana smoothies! Now, this recipe really caught me by surprise. I always make chocolate banana smoothies, they’re my favorite, but one morning I really wanted to have coffee too and didn’t really want to have two drinks because.. I don’t really know why. My solution? Add coffee to my smoothie! I really was planning on a failure here, I thought there was no way it would actually taste remotely good. Well, my friends, it was freaking amazing. So amazing I had another one as an afternoon snack and for breakfast the next couple of days. I couldn’t get enough! Whenever I want a smoothie in the morning now, I am always going to turn to this recipe because it’s too good.
You can even add some protein powder to this smoothie if you want to add a nice protein boost.
My favorite liquid to use in smoothies when they involve chocolate is dark chocolate almond milk. It’s so delicious and really deepens the chocolate flavor while keeping this smoothie dairy free at the same time if that is a dietary need of yours. Also added is the coffee I mentioned earlier, a little cocoa powder, bananas and honey (or agave) for sweetness.
Have you made this recipe? I’d love to know how it came out for you! Please leave a comment below and share a picture on social media with the hashtag #sprinklesomesugar so I can see it!
