Happy Valentine's Day everyone! I hope your day is filled with so much love! 🙂 Today I have another red velvet treat for you guys today in the form of BROWNIES! Gooey, fudgy red velvet swirl brownies that are so yummy I just want to cry. Okay, not really. But I did want to cry because since I started my diet the other day, I'm not eating things like this. (I've been doing so good {!!!!!!}) THEREFORE, I only sampled a little taste. But I wanted more! I'm reallllllly working on self control.
This whole recipe is ridiculously easy considering both the chocolate brownie layer and red velvet brownie swirl are made from box mixes! Yippppee.
To get started, just prepare brownie mix as stated on the box and for the red velvet you will need to follow my recipe and instructions below as you will not be following the box ingredients. Spread out the chocolate brownie throughout the lined pan in an even layer and just plop on the red velvet in random places. Give it a good swirl back and forth with a butter knife and bake! They're that simple.
Gooey delicious brownies that become so vibrant and are just perfect for Valentine's Day!

Red Velvet Swirl Brownies
Ingredients
- 1 box brownie mix I love Ghiardelli Triple Fudge + ingredients on box
- 1 box red velvet cake mix
- ¼ cup vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper, set aside.
- In a large bowl, prepare brownie mix according to manufacturer's instructions. Spread into the bottom of the 9x13 pan in a smooth, even layer. Set aside.
- In another large bowl, combine red velvet cake mix, vegetable oil, egg and milk and mix until completely incorporated and smooth. Spoon onto brownie layer randomly and swirl very gently with a butter knife in different directions. I like to zig zag side to side then up and down. Bake for 20-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out almost clean with a small amount of batter on it. This will ensure that your brownies will be fudgy. Allow brownies to cool completely before cutting into them.
- Red Velvet Swirl Brownies will stay fresh for up to 3 days stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
